I do not take insurance at this time. If you live in the state of Colorado, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance as an out-of-network provider.

This is SUCH an important question that a lot of clients should be informed about so let’s dive in!
Loss of control over care: Insurance companies, not clients or therapists, often decide what type of therapy is covered, how long it can last, and when it should end. This means you could want a specific type of therapy (like Brainspotting) and insurance may not cover it so you have to go with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy instead.
Unexpected costs: Insurance may deny coverage after the fact, leaving clients responsible for large, unplanned bills.
Required diagnosis: Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis, which many clients prefer not to have on their medical record for a variety of reasons. Also, the reason some clients are coming into therapy isn’t due to a diagnosis, but insurance forces clinicians to put one down anyways for reimbursement.
Reduced privacy: Insurance providers may request access to therapy notes to determine if treatment is "medically necessary," which can lead to more of your private information getting into the hands of people who don’t need it.
A good alternative is a superbill because (although it still requires a diagnosis) they won’t ask for your therapy notes, so there’s more privacy there and they can’t dictate your care or leave you with unplanned bills.

I'm located in Englewood, CO at 14 Inverness Dr. East, Building C, Suite 230. I am also available for teletherapy so I can see any clients within the state of Colorado.
Unfortunately, I can't see out-of-state clients due to licensing laws because I am only licensed in Colorado.

While it depends on the specific issue you're coming in for, typically my layout for treatment looks like:
Session 1: Getting to know you, your history, what you're coming in for, creating goals together, and giving you an idea of how I can help.
Sessions 2: Discussing how to move forward. We might explore family history and what it was like to grow up in your home. This gives me a better idea of things that make you who you are today.
Session 3 and on: We start working towards those goals! Whether that's through Brainspotting, premarital assessments, or talk therapy.
